Our Approach

Providing economy of scale in fundraising
We recognize that raising money through public appeals is expensive and can cost not just money but diverts many other resources from the day-to-day mission charities. Children's Promise focusses on engaging the YOU to collect and distribute funds for the benefit of disadvantaged children and young people.

Investing in what works
We already know a great deal about what is required to improve the health and wellbeing of children and young people. That is why we want to invest in bringing known solutions to scale and assist organisations in meeting the challenge of being socially, economically, and environmentally sustainable in a resource constrained environment.

An hour at a time
We all want to make a difference. Most people can give small amounts of money to a few charities or make larger donations later in life. Children's Promise makes every donation count equally through the collective impact - many small contributions add up and will dramatically improve the reality of disadvantaged children and young people.

Uniting all around a common concern
By inviting everybody to give one hour and giving the option of  participating in the selection of grant recipients we unite to address larger issues than we can on our own. You don't need to be rich and influential to make a difference.

Adding Value
We know that there are many organisations and individuals working to improve the wellbeing of children and young people in Australia and would like to add our bit to it as well without distracting from their work or fundraising efforts. If you currently give to charities, please keep giving to them and join Children's Promise in addition.

Many organisations run effective fundraising initaitives and we don't want to compete and divert funds from these - rather - we are hoping to bring additonal funds into the sector.

Open Source
We are transparent about all we do. It is always important to run an efficient, effective and transparent operation but when being entrusted with public funds the expectations are even higher. Fundraising organisations and campaigns are regularly scrutinised and when something goes wrong it receives a lot of negative publicity.   We aim to meet these expectations and will report openly and honestly about all the funds raised, spend and distributed. We are going to share what we think and learn and pursue and encourage collaborations.
